Headed out Saturday morning around 6:15. Hit the bait man up,  then off to the Freighter to try and catch some bait for AJ fishing. All we could catch at the freighter were nice snapper,.

So after releasing the snapper and keeping our two measley Ruby lips we headed off shore for Jacks. First stop.... nothing but nice snapper again.

So after releasing about another dozen or so snapper we decided to troll back to the west and try another spot. We put out a nice spread of Ilander/Ballyhoo and a two Yozuri Bonito and trolled west at about 5 knots for about an hour without a single knock down. Plenty of flying fish and LOTS of scattered grass but no takers.

Rounded up on the next spot and the fishing was alot better.

The pictures above are of my Father and my long time fishing buddy Alan. After a couple of hours here we managed.

1 Black Snapper

2 Grouper

1 legal AJ / 10 released

1 Spekled Hind

1 Lane Snapper

After this spot it was time to head back into state waters to pick up our six snapper and go home. And wouldn't you know the snapper had turned off completley. We thought that Karma would be on our side. You know do the right thing release all the snapper caught, and on the way back in they would cooperate with us. Well.......that was not the case. We ran back inside 9 miles.

At the 9 mile mark there was a USCG cutter with a zodiac deployed inspecting vessels. So we high fived a little bit about having done the right thing and kept on cruising. Got back inside to run up on Team "Chunky Love" doing there thing on a damn good looking Cat. So we radioed to make sure we could ease in on em, catch our 6 snapper and be gone.

We ended up catching 1 barely legal snapper and a 26" AJ. To hell with Karma I guess. Anyway after that we headed home for some Rum and some rest.

We're trying Joe Z.... Still trying to get used to her. The Damn Electronics are giving us fits. Hopefully all the bugs will be worked out by the end of the month, for the Queen of Kings.

Electronics? Electronics?

Stars, moon and a few landmarks -- that's all a real man needs.

Me, I need a $1,000,000 of gear to find the Pass.

There's always kinks to work out on a new boat. It's part of the fun and a great excuse to splash her. "Honey, I gotta go make sure the GPS/chart plotter/bottom machine/whatever is working. I'll be back in about 10 hours."

Now that's funny right there.....
