Went out with some friends and headed to the Ozark.  Arrived and immediately started showing all kinds of stuff on the machine.   This is an impressive wreck and everyone was a getting excited.  Soon realized this was not going to be easy.  A very strong current was going one way boat was drifting the other.  Couldnt seem to put enough lead on the line to get it down to the wreck.  Had a few monster strikes with all of them break offs.  Bonita were frisky and easily catchable.  I hooked up with something that felt strange on the line (heavy with no fight). Cranked it up to find a foul hooked scamp.  It had two other circle hooks on both sides of its jaw.   Brought up a small shark and a few others.  Will have more lead in the boat for the next trip to the Ozark.

We were at the Ozark twice this week and the current was merciless. I was using 20 ounce leads on live and dead without any luck getting to the wreck. Tried 8.5 Williamson jigs and realized... better get a bigger jig. The bottom was lit up with AJ's, snapper, and spades. We had one monster hit trolling a dolphin cedar plug and he threw the hook after a tough 5 minutes. I feel yer pain!

I'll be back there... with bigger jigs and hopefully less current.

The Ozark is so hard to fish. The smokestacks have guywires that come up 250' off the bottom. You can catch a few fish there but your going to loose a lot of tackle.
