| My neighbor is retired military and has launched his small boat at Sherman Cove occasionaly. If I were to take him in my boat, could I launch at Sherman Cove? Using my truck to tow? Sure would save on some gas. Thank you for your replies in advance!

yeah, as long as a person with you is military or DOD they just wave you in. And yes it is Much much much closer than anything else.

| yea they are going to ask the military guy if he is sponsoring you from some crazy reason he says yes you launch your boat. i dont think dod can use the ramp because of the new base command. i work out there have access to any building on the base and cant even fish from the sea wall.

we drove in with a boat and showed a DOD card and no questions asked. This was about 3 weeks ago.

| Yeah DOD, Active Duty, Retired Military, Depends can use the ramp. I am DOD, and called the other day to confirm i can use the ramp. Go to the back gate its closer to the ramp.

Most likely the easiest way to do it is to have the Military member drive through the gate.
