So I'm new to the area, the last fishing I did was in Corpus Chrisit. There I would run to old offshore rigs tie off to em and fish. Since theres no rigs out here I decided to get some GPS waypoints from Half Hitch tackle. Its a small pamphlet that came with I think 185 different spots. Well I tried 4 spots fri afternoon and evening and only come up with a few small fish.

The spot Half Hitch recommended which was the Air Force Barge wreck was loaded with small fish. I was anchored there for a good hour I would lose my bait within seconds and when I switched to smaller hooks I got a few small ones. I then moved on to a few other spots with no luck.

I don't mind going further out if its going to produce some fish. But I dont want to go out again just to waste gas. I would appreciate anyone pointing me in the right direction.

We don't waste our time on the AF Barge. Head to the Liberty Ship (always fish over there!), White Hill, the 18s, Starfish Complex, Timber Holes, Angelina, Deborah. We usually get good fish on those spots.

I have found that the further i go out the better the fishing. You'll get passed all the spots that have been hit up all week by the charters and folks with friends that think their boat runs on thanks not gas.

The road goes on forever and the party never ends

I appreciate it, I'll hit up those spots the next time I go out. Don't worry I'm not a mass fish slayer there will be plenty left when I leave.

the fish close in are pretty shy now as have been receiving a lot of pressure since apr 15. you need to go smaller in leader, hooks say 20#  & long fluoro leader, 2 to 4/0 hook depending on what you want. live bait.

or, you can go further out to the numbers 15 25 miles off. go to the edge (about 23 miles out on sse heading. this is where the bottom starts dropping from 180 to over 300-400. you will see a bunch of boats lined up on a se-ne line. just look at your bottom machine and you will find things

we caught some amberjack on the bridge rubble  a few days ago using live bait, one was legal, but nothing else

Does anyone have a link to these public GPS locations.  Headed out tommorow with my kids and would like to try a few of them.. The sheet I have only has the Liberty Ship on it.  Thanks.
