The computer models say they're on EDT. Did they not run a 2:00 p.m. set for today? Or does it just take them that long to post them?yeah, they're updated on http://www.wunderground.com

Man you guys are on top of things. I have enjoyed reading all of this. Fun discussion. I am not as knowledgeable about all of the weather patterns and how they affect the storm paths but just for the hell of it I got to looking at all of the past storms that have taken the same path as this one. I noticed that since 1995 there have been 10 named storms that have crossed the western part of Cuba. Out of those 10, eight of them have hit Florida with two (Isadore and Lili 2002) landing in Louisiana. Some of them took sharp right turns and visited central and south Florida but I found it interesting that 80% of the named storms that crossed western Cuba over the 12 year period of 1995-2007 hit Florida.

| Well, things are shaping up nicely model wise now. Looks as if Gustav will hold track to Louisiana and spin just off the coast for a few days, 1 Sep-3 Sep, then push inland as the front comes down and sucks it up. A big rain maker for us, a little gusty as well. Going CAT 3 all the way on this one. A big fish spinner will develope over the next few days out in the Atlantic, looks to be a pretty big one. Another area way out there that looks prime for development as well, but way off.

A lot can happen between now and landfall to push this thing our way...right?
