Just a thought. Would there be any interest in doing a PFF blood drive??? Maybe get a bunch of members who will commit to giving blood. If we get enough folks to sign up to make it worth there while maybe the bus could park at a member on the forums business. Maybe even park it say at Outcast if Tommy wouldn't mind. If enough folks signed up maybe get some t-shirts made up for the fishing community blood drive or PFF blood drive. All of this came to me in a brain fart and just wanted to throw it out there. After all it is a good cause and it will give you that warm fuzzy feeling when you donate.

I've never had two nickles to rub together so, I have always donated a charter per year for charities to auction off.  The ones I have always donated to are Hospice, American Cancer Society and Life South Blood Bank.

Several years ago, one I donated to Life South got the biggest response they had ever had.  They kinda hyped it up and Subway provided lunches, Budweiser provided Beer and Coca-Cola provided soft drinks.  One of the jocks from an area country station went along.  It was a helluva trip--rained all day but we caught the heck out of fish.  (Sometimes even fools get lucky)  WTRS talked it up for a month before hand and I got a big bunch of business out of it.  Oh yeah, sombody printed tee shirts.

At last count, I have donated over 28 gallons of blood.  That covers lots of years.  My Dad took me along when he gave blood and, when I got old enough I started.  I took my son with me when he was tiny and he is now a multiple gallon donor.

I have a huge amount of respect for blood donors.  According to statistics, only 15% of eligible donors acually give on a regular basis.  My wife was raised as a Jehova's Witness and does not believe in blood transfusions.  She is an RN and I can't understand why she has her head so far up her A$$.

I think your blood drive is a fine idea.  I wish I could be there for it.  If you can get a local radio station to talk it up, you might have a huge turn out.  Good deal!

Life is too short to catch little fish.

The blood mobile comes out to my work every 8 weeks or so and I donate.  It helps that I get half a day off to give blood and they schedule them to come out on Fridays.  .  But I started giving blood before I got time off as well.  Giving blood is not painfull and the benifits that come from that one pint of blood are above and beyond the effort and time it takes to give blood.  I have a rare blood type and I know that every little bit that I give helps.
