I have twin 1984 120 Mercruisers in my boat. I need to change the oil, filters, points and plugs. I have a Chalmers manual but it doesn't list too many part numbers. Where can I find the part numbers I need? Any info appreciated.

Serial numbers are 6892106 and 6892123. Thanks

Heres what ya do David. Go to your local Napa auto parts store, tell them what size, year, make etc. that you have. They all have a marine application catalog in the stores,if not they should. Get yourself some Champion plugs(GM ignition likes them),Napa oil & filter,Standard ignition points but I suggest looking into upgrading in the future to electronic ignition(made a big differance in my engine) You'll save a lot of $ by using them and if ya have a buddy thats in the automotive business, try using his account name and pay cash for a discount. Any questions just holler and i'll see what I can do to help.

Champion plug: RBL8.....gap-.035"..........Ignition set w/cap:SME185268....point gap-.022"...Dwell-28-34 degrees....Ignition timing-8 degrees BTDC(before top dead center)

Cant find a listing for an oil or fuel filter(stupid internet!) There is usually a screen in the carbeurator and in most cases another filter in the bowl at the bottom of the fuel pump.If it has a strap on the pump bowl then theres a filter in there. Be careful when trying to take it off if its rusted! Order yourself a Seloc book for more in depth repairs or just keep asking questions and i'll just refer to mine for the time being.
