How Obama Got Elected

It's quite clear to anyone willing to pay attention that the media plays a major roll in peoples level of information. Newspapers, TV, Radio and so on are all avenues that people use to be informed on issues. Makes perfect sense. Good? Probably not. But, here is the question I would ask....If you know that the media has that big of an effect on people then why not make your own right wing leaning new avenues?

Wait...there are right wing leaning media outlets. So, what's the problem? Or is everyone complaining because the left leaning ones are more popular? This is not a problem that is going to go away and to me is not a very viable argument anyway. You can point your finger at left leaning news outlets as culprits all you want but you can't very well call "media" liberal or conservative because both ARE represented. Fox and CBN are both conservative. One just tends to be more popular than the other and therefore has more ability to influence...the answer? Make your own media outlets that lean the way you want and then make them interesting.

And if you really want to see something neat, research the creators of certain news networks and you'll find that their political beliefs have shifted a few times based on the direction the world was headed at the time. So, it's pretty safe to say that often times the creators of the news outlets were simply going where the news was and reporting it in a manner that gets the most attention and thusly makes them the most money.

You shouldn't get mad that media leans left, you should get mad that people that vote rely on bad information as thier basis for voting the way they do. Blaming a left leaning media for the election of Obama is like blaming a gun manufacturer for bank robberies.

I'd a agree that the mainstream TV media leans left with a couple exceptions. It's interesting that liberals cannot make a dent in radio. Again a couple exceptions like PBS and a couple narrowly syndicated individuals.

There seems very little crossover too. One notable exception is O'Reilly, who does well with both. Me, (liberal) see him as just a touch right of center. He's also probably has the best shtick of all the psuedo-intellectual political entertainers. (Rush is also a good entertainer, but he's an obvious right-winger).

But yeah, WAY too much "entertainment", not nearly enough political insight from any news source.
