7500 were American made, 750's are made in China.......8500 American Made 850 China made......see the trend?

| To make matters worse, Penn sold out to Shakespere. Now, not only will they be made overseas but the quality will most likely go down hill. HMHO

the quality has been going down hill for about 6 years now... not worth the gas to the tackle shop to look at one IMHO

Topic got bet to death on the old forum.F@&K A PENN REEL.
Use to love penn reels till in one weekend we blew up 2 on on a trip.LOst a Very Big Cobia on the way up.Anti reverse Blew out and than the reel locked up se we had to hand line.
Next Penn blew up on a wahoo trolling.
I have blown up all the 330GTI's just catching triggers and mingo.Reels made it on there 3rd trip.Than blew up a 4/0 before (GET THIS) it ever even made it to the water.The screw that tightens the clicker drag malfunctioned and pulled the piece of shit plastic housing through the other side.
SO AFTER ALL THAT I CALL WARRANTY DEPARTMNENT and ask them to warranty there shit and told them i used braid line.They say they will not warranty braid line on the reels.IM Like WTF the 9/0 is a bottom fishing reel used for snatching up aj and grouper than im told NOPE they wont warranty over 30 lb test
I threw all the junk in the garbage and one that was on a rod i was so pissed off offshore when 1 blew up i threw the whole setup in the water i was so pissed.Never put another penn on my boat EVER
I heard the internationals are the best reels but they are also the only ones made in the USA.
Dont believe me.I did some research.The senators and such reels are made in CHINA but the box is made in the USA.They get bulk shipping meaning they package them in crates send them over and box them up here.Print on the box made in USA but the reel was made in china.
90 percent of penn reels are made in CHINA
Switched to Diawa and Shimano and have NOT had ANY Problems and we fish just as hard as with the PENNS>

| This is crap man! Ive always loved penn reels but when I heard about this, I was pissed. Well I guess its time to make the transition to quantum and fin nor.
