Sunday is looking to be a promising day weather wise according to the weather reports so far. If it hold to be true is anyone planning on heading out on sunday?

Hey guys,

I see bladeco and oceanman have about the same size boat as I have (I have a 17' proline cc). How far out do you go on a good day with a buddy following?

thanks

greg

We will be out, not sure where, as long as the weather stays true to the reports.

well I am not to sure about how far I can make it as I have not taken her out yet except for about an hour to check her out. She ran fine but I am not to sure about fuel consumption. I have 31 gallons and i am not to sure about how far things are out there. I am still inputting my gps coordinates in my gps unit. If you do want to buddy up let me know. send me a PM. I put the bout in the water at Sherman Cove on NAS Pensacola. PLanning on trying to get out there at like 930 at the marina and be heading out to the pass by 1000. Pray to the weather god that it stays nice with smooth seas. see ya out there.

I have an 80 gallon gas tank and go 30 miles out on a fairly regular basis if the weather is good and is suppose to stay good. 40 miles out is as far as I've been. Its best to learn your boat and slowly gain confidence in it going a little farther each time till you reach your comfort zone. Also you want to follow the rule of thirds. Use no more than 1/3 of your gas going out, 1/3 comming back and 1/3 in reserve.

I have only had my boat out once. I live in Huntsville. I was just wondering how far out is safe to go on a good day. I don't think I would ever go out more than about 20 miles. I will probably do most of my fishing from May to Oct. I guess I am a little chicken but I sure would like to catch a tuna.
