| Has anyone heard anything about 2008 snapper season dates?I have heard rumors it has been pushed back to 6/6/08.Then last night I heard there will be no snapper season in 2008.If this is true,I don't see how charter fishing can survive.I wish I could find something out!

big fish (1/27/2008) Has anyone heard anything about 2008 snapper season dates?I have heard rumors it has been pushed back to 6/6/08.Then last night I heard there will be no snapper season in 2008.If this is true,I don't see how charter fishing can survive.I wish I could find something out!I havent heard that yet but was told while at th FWC in Tallahassee last Thursday that NMFS can shut the entire Red Snapper fishery down any time they want. and Larry if that is not correct you can clear that up with them because thats what they said.

| What is really going to be messed up is if they stop the harvest of snapper all together, forever. It will basically end bottom fishing. This may be the last year the federal government allows "us" to catch "their" red snapper. Doesn't it just make you want to go out and pay your taxes.
