OIP has been more productive than P'cola for a few weeks now. I wonder if P'cola is starting to fall in that "dead zone" that the news has been talking about? It is really slow to the point of being completely dead here in Mississippi and many fisherman in Texas have complained about the drastic drop of in the red populations in their area. Seems the further east you go, the better the fishing gets. This would make sense since the there is a large counterclockwise current called the Loop Current that flows in the Gulf that would tend to push the Mississippi river runoff (and it's associated dead zone properties) to the west toward Texas. Just an observation and thought. Bottom line is that unless I see P'cola picking back up, I will problably drive the extra 40+ miles with my son to fish OIP.

RE: Pensacola Beach Pier

okie is where its at lately. pcola has been very slow, a few cudas being caught on tubes here and there, a few lock jawed tarpon, and a lone king here and there. there hasnt been really any runs that you can count on yet. however if it is ladyfish and hard tails you are after... have at it plenty around. It has been really slow in our neck of the woods.

Pensacola Beach Pier

Has anyone been to PCB Pier in the last few days ??
