Wow! That's pretty all over the place! For starters, I don't lie.. I am a confirmed independent. Thanks for the wild, unfounded acusation! You are sort of supporting my original premise! I've voted both ways in all different elections/offices.Pretty standard ploy to attack the honesty of someone you are TRYING to argue with with out a good arguement! Whose playbook did that come from?

I'm not upset in the least about people not criticizing the president for his lack of command of the english language...just trying to point out the hypocracy of dumping all over one verbal gaff by a democrat. And Flounderpounder, it is good that you are interested in the future of our country and I heartily commend you, but could you imagine the thought of having Harry Kerry ( Mr. Purple Heart) with that wack job wife for a first lady ?
One last note regarding bad intelligence before Iraq. Numerous writings have been reported stating that intelligence sources throughout the world including ( Germany, Russia, UK and others ) came to the same conclusion as the U.S. did regarding WMD's prior to going into Iraq.

I am not tryimg to switch gears and I agree we don't have exactly perfect Presidential hopefulls, but I do believe the Democrats will increase your taxes take away more of your rights along with possibly your guns. So I have to vote for what I think will be the lesser of two evils. The next President also stands to appoint the next Justice and possible 3 before he or she leaves office.

Yep. I agree with that! I also believe we morally should take care of those who can't (severely physically or mentally handicapped, etc.). I'm actually way to the RIGHT on all 3 candidates on ILLEGAL immigration, and believe we should not spend ourselves into oblivion. That USED TO be a republican issue. I'm still waiting for someone to adress my original premise. I guess if you can't argue my point, just switch gears????? Seems to work for politicians!

Interesting comments! It's also very interesting that NOBODY has adressed the intent of the thread! No surprise. I wouldn't belong to either party if you paid me. But just maybe, you might consider this: independents like me elected President Bush (by a razor thin margin). A lot of us are not happy with the results, and are ESPECIALLY not happy with the partisan knee jerking. This applies to both parties, but it seems the R's have the distinct edge on the D's in that dept. Just my opinion, but we are pretty tired of it, and it (at this rate) will bite you in the butt come Nov. If you'd rather be "right" and get trounced, have at it!

By the way, I am not defending or advocating for democrats, so save it for another thread!!!! The point I am trying to make is that we'd be better off not sounding/acting like the Shites/Sunnis in Iraq! Yes, we all have the right to say what we want, and I support that!!!!! But important issues, like national security, a r e a l i s t i c approach to health care, and the unreported costs of dealing

OK... first of all I'm an independent. I'm not sure WHO I will be voting for yet. I prefer to judge canditates on the issues. However, there has been so much "D" bashing on the forum lately (actually almost continuously) that is so mean spirited, nasty, and well....downright hypocritical, such as the recent post bashing Sen. Obama for making a verbal gaff. Why hypocritical? I never saw any posts about President Bush (notice I gave him the respect to not just say "Bush") for his MASTERY of verbal gaffs! How about we continue political discourse without the stupid jokes, inuendos, factless and/or false statements, and focus on issues? Below is a list of just a few of the President's verbal "accidents".
