The flounder are making one of two annual runs, Redfish, Specks and Bass are feeding for the winter. This is an exciting time for the Mobile Bay angler. Adding to that excitement is the 2nd Annual 5 Rivers Fall Kayak Fishing Tournament.

With the great success of last years Fall tournament, this years 5 Rivers event will be bigger and better. More exhibits, performances by the Robbing Peter band, great food and more prizes.

Kayak anglers from around the Gulf will be arriving in Mobile to compete. With over 500 members of the public attending last year, many more are expected to view the sport of kayak angling and learn more about the sport we’re all addicted too.

So if you’ve got what it takes to compete against some of the best Gulf Coast Kayak anglers, then we will see you at 5 Rivers.

For more information on the event go to http://www.mbkfa.com/tournaments.htm/

Redfish Riviera is looking forward to seeing you there! The tournament site will be at Carl Gray Park, link for directions and map: http://www.theredfishclub.com/Page2.html . The club's tournaments mirror IFA events in regulations and format, 2 man teams, artificials only, and fish must be kept alive. This tournament is open to any non-club team that would like to participate. If you're an IFA team fishing in the championship in November, then this would be the perfect opportunity to prefish, hear what else is going on in different areas, and have a chance to win some extra cash. The entree fee is cheap, just $25.00 a team. There is also an optional calcutta side bet that is $50.00 per team if wishing to put a little more on the line. After weigh in, there will be some festivities and is sure to be a great time. Come see what your local redfish club is all about and join us!!!!

Go to website www.theredfishclub.com for more information.

Jim Jimenez

Club Operator

jamesj@theredfishclub.com

www.theredfishclub.com

850-450-4298

PFF (un)offical fall shark tourney and camp

Well here's the survey for the possible dates chime on in folks!

pirates tournament

Who's fishing? I suggested to him to spend it here, on the Forum. He needs to spend it this year.
I suggested having a PFF/Picture(with measure tape) tournament and have 4 catagories such as Pompano, Flounder, Redfish and Largest Fish caught on one of his jigs. No entry fee, just catch a fish on one of his jigs and take a picture (with a ruler) and post it on a thread that is designated to the species you caught. At the end of the tournament, each winner would be awarded the winning award which would most likely cash.

Pompano

Flounder

Redfish

Largest Single Fish

I think something could be put together that would be very cool. I got to think some of you all have some ideas, and I hope you don't mind sharing them.

Well?

Pirate of Lost Treasure Fishing Tournament

the new pirates of the lost treasure fishing tounamnt t-shirts for sale now

The short sleeve are $15.00 and long sleeve are $20.00 they have pockets this year!! we can ship or pick up adifferent locations. I need some input on what a tournament angler would want in a pen to include size, shape, bait capacity, wire size etc. Here is a picture of the first design. The trap/pen is 24" wide, 24" long and 23" high. Its massive, maybe too big? Unlike my normal traps, this one has a dead bait container through the middle with dimensions of 23" high, and 3.5" on each of the 4 sides. Here is a pic:

Fishing For Families sponsored by Plant Crist Transformers
Fishing for Families
Volunteers for the Gulf Power Plant Crist Plant Transformers Annual Fishing Rodeo are determined to make this weekend special!
This year, they are raising funds to support the Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Florida. Cleve Posey, Rodeo Chairman,
says “for 2 anglers, $100 per boat is a small price to pay to support such a big cause! Anglers will be helping out Parents by
providing rooms near their child who is receiving life-saving care from a local hospital. Additional anglers can support the cause by paying
$30 each to join their boating partners.” Bank fishing is also encouraged at $30 an entry. This donation will register participants in the
Tournament and includes a day of fishing fun, a Captain’s / Angler’s meeting serving Hot Dogs and Hamburgers Aug 8th at the Grand Lagoon Yacht Club , and is a tax
deductible contribution. Late registration will remain open through the Captain’s / Angler’s meeting. Rules will be discussed at the Captain's meeting.
Over $2500 in cash and prizes will be awarded. Children 12 and under fish for free.
If you love fishing and you love helping others, you won’t want to miss it! Entry forms are available at the following locations
Gray’s Tackle
Outcast Bait & Tackle
Gulf Breeze Bait & Tackle
If you have any questions about the tournament, you can call 429-2282, leave a message and the committee will get back with you. This year, with so much turmoil surrounding the snapper, we moved it.
Mr. Tommy Holmes of Outcast Fishing & Hunting offered us a slot alongside the Miller Lite Mega Shark Tournament -- august 8-10 -- and we agreed that we could not lose.
Now we can put our signature event in front of a crowd of tens of thousands and showcase our sponsors and sport in a brighter light.
With the addition of our Inshore Grand Slam division, we are adding a category that drew a lot of interest during last year’s tournament and believe it will only bolster our numbers in terms of participation. This is in addition to the categories for red snapper, grouper, triggerfish, amberjack and king mackerel as well as the Offshore Grand Slam — an aggregate of all five species — that served as the groundwork for this event.
Our Captain's meeting will be August 7 at 6 p.m. -- registration will open at 5 p.m. (or just sign up now) at the RFRA Building at 1007 Pine Street across from Joey Patti's Seafood Deli.
Here's the details:
Offshore -- entry fee for species competition is $50 per person.
This gets you in the money for the species but not the Slam. That's basically a $200 per boat jackpot.
Inshore -- $150. That's it, not too confusing.
Payouts
Offshore Species
Payouts based on 250 anglers
Grouper, AJ, King
1st: $1,500
2nd: $1,000
3rd: $500
Trigger and snapper
1st: $750
2nd: $500
3rd: $250
Offshore Slam
Payouts based on 50 boats
1st: $5,000
2nd: $2,500
3rd: $1,500
There also will be lady and junior anglers prizes to be determined.
Inshore Slam
Payouts based 40 boats
1st: $2500
2nd: $1250
3rd: $750

Largest of
each species
$300 for largest trout, red or flounder
Lady Angler
$250 Value

Junior Angler
$250 Value

There's also optional cash prizes if you're into that whole making lots of money catching fish thing.

Questions?
