I didn't go fishing this am, but I did get up early and go to the beach to see how others were doing. I saw one whiting caught and a lot of catfish being caught. I didn't see anyone using sand fleas this am, mostly dead shrimp and squid were being used. I walked close to two miles looking for sand flea colonies and I didn't see the first one. Every now and then, I saw what may or may not have been a sand flea, but there were no large colonies. I stopped at three places to look. I started at the entrance to the state park (no good), went down to Opal beach (I think that's what it's called, anyway nothing but a bunch of dead catfish there), and then I went to the old pier and walked to the East for a ways. There was a lot beach erosion from the rough surf we've had lately making for some nice troughs. The water was stained from being churned up so bad. That's about it...
