Wow! Glad it is not me.  Anyone else get that sick feeling in the pit of their stomach when looking at the picture.  Sucks doesn't start to describe it for me.

Oh, that hurts.

The trailer doesn't appear to be a roller trailer or the new trailers with the plastic bunkers.  You would think that much weight wouldn't just slide off on flat ground.

See what had happened was............shit

Heck,  fer a camera phone...that pic is great!   Sucks fer the boat owner, especially when he makes the call to the insurance company!  The trailer and truck don't look messed up? Looks like it just slid off???  Kinda bizzare...

OUCH !! I wonder how it came off ? that is a HEAVY boat, I wonder if he accellerated too much & it slid off ? That is the only thing it could be. No trailer damage. I have a friend that his bass boat stood up on the trailer on the freeway,,,then flipped off,,,,,Do not think that could happen,,Hy 59 has speed limit of 55, plus 6000lb+ boat. Do not think a hurricane could flip it off a trailer !!

I never depend on my wench alone.  But even so, I would have thought something that heavy wouldn't have slide off.

There was a thread on here several weeks ago asking whether it's necessary to use straps when trailering. Well, here's your answer.

Use both stern straps and a chain or heavy rope at the bow in addition to your winch cable.

You will get a ticket if yu don't have some sort of a strap.  I use 3/4" nylon rope with a Trucker's hitch.  I NEVER use rachet straps because I see too many on the road.

Life is too short to catch little fish.
