1st - sinus surgery gone bad.... doctor put a hole the diameter of a pen in my skull. All my spinal fluid leaked out and my brain ended up plugging the hole. Cant even describe it. The only thing morphine would do was keep my body from spasming.
2nd- cutting my left index and middle fingers off with a hatchet when I was 12. The bad part was we were on a fishing/camping trip, needless to say I still fished, just one handed.
3rd- cousin shot me in the big toe with a BB. Didn't realize it was still in my toe until 3 months later when my brother got a medal detector for Christmas. The surgery made it feel much better. Almost lost that toe.
From what I have heard kidney stones are up on the top of the list. Ouch, plus some of you had them offshore, are you kidding me. From the stories I here you think you are going to die.

The kidney stones felt like crapping a watermelon wrapped in barb wire drenched in a salt/alcohol soloution...or thereabouts.....That's a good one Wade, I always tell people to imagine the worst back pain you've ever had times 10 with someone standing on your testicles.

for me there's no question on this one..........the last we tried to count, I've had just over 500 sutures, 55 or so broken bones including 2 compound fractures and seven surgeries (two where sinus reconstruction) and one of the surgeries was when I put a slimey rock from the lake so far through my foot that I could see the blood between the bones on the top and the dr opened it up without novicaine while the attendants held me down because he was afraid of sending algea into my blood stream. the most painful by far was when the dr said I had separated all but 3 or 4 of the ribs in my sternum. Every breath, movement or anything for almost 5 months nearly took me to my knees. A few times I passed out just from a cough.....

| OH Boy....Let me start out with the fact that I have a very high threshold for what some of you call pain and I call discomfort. I have taken 2 pain pills in my entire lifetime. At age 11 I had Guillain-Barre Syndrome http://www.steadyhealth.com/gillian_barre_t61354.html At age 17 I burned my arm when gasoline splashed on to it and ignited (2nd degree, on the verge of 1st). After 3 days of healing the doctor didn't like the way it was healing (looked good to me) but was in fact healing from the outer edges to the center. He wanted it to heal from the center to the outside.....SCRAPED all healing scab from my wrist to my elbow.Not one word came out. He was amazed. As long as I have gone to the dentist, my records on top has the words "NO SHOTS" I only get a deadening shot if the work goes to the root, as in a root canal. At age 34 I had BOTH big toenails removed at the same time (the doctor wanted to do them 1 a week, nope..both NOW..why have 2 doctor bills for visits). I got home and the next day was drilling a hole in a fence brace with a high torque 1/2" drill. The drill bit bound, twisted the drill out of my hands and broke the 1/2" drill bit. The drill fell with the broken bit hitting one of my big toes ripping the end off. Every word that I know was known to ALL my neighbors. Went in, stopped the bleeding and back out and finished the job. At age 51 I had 6 heart by-passes. They cut my chest open and for two days I had the worse pain (it wasn't F***ing discomfort, it was PAIN) at about 7PM when I had to cough. When coughing it felt like the stainless wire was ripping out of my chest...1 pain pill for the next 2 days. Damn I just had too. No getting away from that one. Twice on a weekend I have pulled..as you might say extracted a tooth. No Dentist open to go to, so I take dental floss, wrap/tie around the tooth and walla...its pulled. Susan had to leave the house as she couldn't remotely stand the thought of doing what I did. Hell I haven't gone through anything compared to the stories I've read....That 30# Andre has to be pretty bad...but IKOFDI
