Sounds like Alvarez went to college and played football like "Radio" went to college and played football. Either way 1990 is a long time ago and college days are well over. I heard and saw all I needed of this type Latino bull shit working counterdrug ops in south america and the caribbean from 2000-2004.  They talk bs right up until the time something starts to go down and then want to backup.  Just remember a southern boy is normally polite right up until the time they take you out.
