| I watched the weather all day and it appeared it would go north and west of us. My oldest daughter and son put in at about 6:30 and went just south of the channel. The weather held out just long enough to catch Sundays Dinner. One decent white trout and a 24" redfish. That the first keeper, hopefully many more to follow. The wife perfers the white trout, fine by me they are easier to come by and that leave more redfish for me.

nice almost all my reds are to big, if your young'ns are good with the rods try the first 5 of 6 pilings of the 3 mile coming off the GB side with shrimp, LY's or little pinfish for mangrove snapper but they are *right at the bottom* of the piles...

We were using cut bait and dead shrimp. The red hit the cut bait. I plan on getting some live shrimp and trying the piles for mangroves on our next outing. Saturday was sort of a last minute trip and didn't last long because of the weather. It was worth the effort to get our first slot red.
