I may be the strangest member of the forum.  I have made many friends that I would not have had the chance to meet without being a member of the forum.  Although I don't get the chance to see them or do things with them I still consider many of the people I have met on here friends.

I enjoy reading your thoughts.  It never sieses to amaze me how much intelligence and knowledge is in the membership of this forum.  There are many truly great people that are members of PFF, and it is a privalige to be able to communicate and get there opinion on anything.  I have no doubt that if I were going to rebuild a 55 Ford, a Deep Water Well or the transom of a boat that I could get some great leadership and direction right here.

I love to fish and do quite a bit, mostly short trips here and there, and a couple of extended long trips (weeks) down into the keys a couple of times a year.  I enjoy reading the reports and seeing the great pictures, but mostly I enjoy the challanging thoughts.

As I said, I may be the strangest member, but I enjoy the forum.  What do you enjoy most about PFF?

What I like......no matter what political/personal view one holds, no matter what topic is brought up (weather we agree or disagree) when all over and said with , all seems to be forgotten when we come together doing the 1 or more of the few things that brought us here in the first place, fishing/hunting/diving. In all the trips I've had fishing with members, with all the different viewpoints.....not once has it made any difference. I'm out there for the enjoyment of fishing, and having a great time with old and new friends.

The PFF, is entertaining, funny, educational, and made up of several folk with the same warped sense of humor as myself.

Years ago we were referred to as "the silent majority" folks working hard to make a living, raising families, and understanding what was important in life.  The forum gives this group a place to meet.

And besides all of that it gives old men something to do and keeps you kids off the street.

My favorite things are posting reports of my catches and trying to help people that seem to need more help than I would on the water. I love it when people read and reply to my posts, so I always try to give folks plenty of replies and especially those who aren't getting many.

The friends you make, I was BS'in with a guy ( in Iraq and learned we were both members of the PFF. we still talk and fish together. meeting Clay-dho was a trip too since we are both from Detroit. you don't meet many Lions fans in FL. the people here are the finest you'll find anywhere. Even if they do piss ya off every once in a while. LOL

i enjoy a handful of different things at different times all to different degrees.

sometimes i just enjoy looking through pages of classifieds just to see what i can score that maybe nobody else saw. or to keep track of what my collection of penn spinning reels is worth now ive also unloaded a lot of reels and rods that i may not have otherwise.

sometimes i enjoy the forum just so i can vent. last year when i had so many problems with my kidney/kidney stones (3 operations) i got on here and complained like a little girl. and so many of the members encouraged me and i laughed a lot about some of the stories. because of this forum, i obtained a lot of good advice which i somewhat attribute my good kidney health to now.

obviously, i enjoy reading the reports, getting tips, keeping up with everything going on in the area. it is especially nice for me to unwind and read about NWFL fishing after a day that was frustrating over here in texas. of that whole category, i think i enjoy the bluewater reports the most.

overall, i enjoy the people ive met on here the most. theres a couple in specific that i havent met, but i count as real blessing to know because of some of the conversations we've had and i do hope to hunt and/or fish with them some day! one of these people is the man who started this thread. had it not been for the pff, its likely i would have never talked to garbo, but because of this great community, i have built a relationship i cherish. there are a few other guys on here who have never shaken my hand, but have offered me to hunt with them, how many other places do you know you get offers like that?! not many. dave cartee (boondocks) turned out to be one of my closest friends after talking with him on here. from a thread in the classified section he and i got to talking and it turns out his wife was my algebra teacher in high school. we chatted a bunch, ended up playing softball together, then he invited me to his hunting camp in oak hill alabama where i killed my personal best buck. his friendship has been a HUGE blessing and now my wife and i think of him as one of our better friends.
