Guys,
Have a friend who is a rep and has some samples for sale. I asked him about a butterfly rod and reel. He said he has a Shimano Trevala butterfly rod 6'6" Heavy. The only reel he had left was a Shimano Torium 16. Will this set up work? Want to use 80lb braid.
Thanks.

| Yes it will work. I use the 66MH rod and Torium 20 and my buddy uses the 16 and 20.

just got back from first trip with the new okuma cedros speed jigging rod- WOW very impressive, at half the cost of the shimano's. i have the 6'6" MH spinning, with a 9500 FINN NOR reel..... 600yds of 100lb power pro. it put a whuppin on some 40-50 class aj's. another plus with the spinning reels is that they retrieve more line per turn that conventional, thus not wearing you out as quick. this rod is also great for throwing tuna popppers..... with that power pro and a 7-10inch popper you can sling it a mile..... will def. be buying a few more of these combos

| I will second the Cedros rod. I have a conventional reel (Black Daiwa Saltist) on it, but it is bad ass!! I will be purchasing the spinning version of the rod next. Bob
