I like the Blackwater River State Park campground but then I like more primitive camping than most. There aren't many bells and whistles there but it is quiet and right out there in the woods.

There's a new one just under Baars Bridge in Perdido Key. Looks real nice. Here's the web site: http://www.perdidocove.com

We just spent several days at the new Perdido Cove RV Resort and Marina.  Its the one just over the bridge going on to Perdido Key.  Later we brought the boat over.  Its really a great location; we had a great time there.

Big Lagoon State Park is nice but your too far from the water.  Blackwater is a great location but they can accomodate our size RV.  Henderson Beach and Topsail in Destin are two of our other favorite locations.

Last I heard Blackwater State Park campground was closed for renovation. Wasn't supposed to reopen until September 1. Rest of park was still in operation.

don't know how far from Pensacola you are talking about.

Hedenderson SP in Destin:  We will be camping there next week.  Pretty much ranked as tops by everyone I've talked to.

Grayton SP in South Walton:  East of Destin.  I think its better than Henderson (haven't camped at either, just visted).  But htats because its less crowded.  Doesn't have huge camp sites so large RVs have problems.

Top Sail SP:  Very nice.  Paved sites, full hook-ups.  You have to take a tram to the beach and then walk aways over hte board walk.

St Andrews SP in Panama City:  Great park.  Great boat access, beach access, and nice tidal pool for the kids.

Rocky Bayou SP in Niceville:  New and Nice.  On the bay access.  You can cross the midbay bridge and goto Henderson (they let us in free with our camping pass) for beach access.

The other SPs are nice, but small and limited in what they offer.  Blackwater in Milton, Falling Waters in Chipley, and Florida Caverns in Marianna.
