| SMOKED FOR 40 YEARS AND TRIED TO QUIT SEVERAL TIMES, BUT I SORTA WANTED TO QUIT. tHEN APRIL 10TH OF THIS YEAR WHILE PLAYING WITH MY GRANDSON I REALIZED THAT I WOULD LIKE TO BE AROUND FOR A WHILE, AND THAT DAY I QUIT. USED THE PATCH FOR 3 WEEKS AND THEN JUST GRIN AND BEARED IT. FOR ME THE FIRST 2 MONTHS WERE THE WORST AND SINCE THEN EVERYDAY GETS A LITTLE EASIER. iTS NICE TO GET THE SENSE OF SMELL AND TASTE BACK TO.

I did'nt start smoking till I was 21. Got married to a smoker,but thats another tragic story. I quit the day Dr. Lurton told me I had cancer on my tonsils. Could have been alot of things that caused it, but I sure 26 years of boro reds did'nt help none. Been 3 years without cigs.... and 40 lymph nodes and pieces of my shoulder muscle on my right side of my neck.

gonna be 3 yrs this coming thanksgiving, i had smoked for 24+yrs. I used Zyban for 2 weeks and that was it, of course i WANTED to quit, i was sick of it , it just didn't make any sense to me anymore. now i look back and think how stupid i was for all those years sucking smoke into my clean healthy lungs.
one tip is to try to identify your "triggers"...the things that make you want a cig and either eliminate them or be very aware of these triggers and say NO each time...your gonna be saying NO for awhile..but it can be done...good luck ...its the right thing to do...not to mention $4 a pack!!!!

| A guy that I work with told me about the "strange dreams" he had while taking Chantix. He said most of his were sex dreams and he couldn't wait to go to sleep at night. LOL Thanks again guys for all the tips. Like I said, i've made the appt. for this Monday and am going to give it a seriuos shot.

| seventeen days , no smokes. chantix: good stuff, two packs a day for twenty something years. The biggest problem I m having is the sore throat,, Its bad still detoxing it...who would have thought....I trust every one has a fun and safe nite..... Il be at the beach ina couple of weeks........
