Dave is gone that weekend but I would love to join the party. I got the Boat but no captain. With the little ones, I can't launch and handle everything by myself. Let me know the plan...

I think I'll wait till next week to make the final decision. If the party is a full weekend deal, I might have to find other transportation. The 2 year old might not tolerate the great outdoors that long.

I would hate for ya'll to make me swim home with a cranky kid...

I got some friends down the street that might be up for a day trip. Keep me posted and I'll make it if I can. Thanks for the offer.

Is everything still a "GO" for the campout? If so Dawna, myself and Tony will be coming for sure. Dawna found out about the campout and she is dead set on attending. So I guess we will see you all Friday night

If for what ever reason Ike messes up our plans next weekend.  Just plan on the next weekend of the 20th.   Or let's just have a hurricane party in tents on on the boats.

Is this still going to be going on?.. with Ike still out there?... with lots of tornado watches like Gustav?

I will be out there as long as the weather is decent enough.  The latest models are taking it even more Southwest and possibly taking it into south Texas.  So it may stir up the gulf a bit and keep me from diving that day, but I don't think it should mess up the land lubers weather.  As long as it stays south, we should not get any of the rain bands for the most part.  But we will just have to play it by ear.  If it looks to be nasty, we will schedule it for the next weekend.

I am going to wait till Thursday or so to make a decision.

I know a few folks like bamasam and Bluffman2 were supposed to be coming in from a far.  So hopefully it can happen this weekend and be ok.

If the gulf is nasty, I guess that just means more time sitting on the beach with the captain.

It appears it will be a good one, this weekend that is.

In 1993, on the full moon of October, we went camping at the pass. It was raining when we pulled away from the house on Friday. The forcasters were saying it would clear over night. So we went to set up in the rain, go to sleep and wake to sunshine.

Well ------ the forcasters were wrong - the weather set in and we were in tropical winds of 40 to 50 mph - for the entire weekend !! We stayed waiting for it to clear.

What a great time we had !!

We have story after story that will not be told here, but maybe around a camp fire.

The trips we take to the pass when it is sunshine and nice are not remebered like this one. When we now get together and talk about camping, and this weekend is brought up, by then end of all tales, everyones stomach and face is hurting from all the laughing.

It appears we will pass a good time soooon.

If you are not having fun, why the Heck are you doing it!!!

Should the weather turn out as I am dreaming, I will bring a garbage can or two of aged split oak from my fire wood pile in the backyard for use on one large fire, I guess on Sat night.

Charging the batteries tommorrow and getting everything ready to head down. As it looks right now we are going to leave out right after the football game( Alex is in band) and try to be on the water early Saturday morning. We will set up camp to get the junk off the boat then see what we can drag out of the water. I will give you a holler after we get set up Jon.

Kenny you and Penny come on over and meet Precious.

Sam,

I plan to get up when I get up on Saturday and get out there.  No set up for me.  Just pass out in the cabin late Saturday night.  Does not look like I will be able to get out in the gulf.  It's calling for rough seas.

Nextep - If you could bring some oil, that would be great.  If you want to bring some cheese grits for some folks, that's good to.

Fish is what we will need mostly.  I am bringing some tater tots and fish to cook.

Matt is bringing the cooker and the batter/seasoning.

I will be bringing some firewood as well.  You can never have enough firewood.  It will burn quicker than you think most of the time.

And just bring what ever else you want or can think of.  If you have a lantern, bring it.  I will be bringing mine.  Oh and don't forget the
