I plan on heading out to Fort Pickens and Pensacola Pass tommorow.  What should I use to troll and how fast should I go?

To answer this I would have to almost be sitting in the boat at the time you start to troll.  All of this depends on sunlight, water conditions, wind and current.  How are you trolling, flatlines, diving planes or just out the back of the boat.

It also depends on what my sonar is showing, bait activity and depth of the bait.

To get you started, if you are simply trolling a rod out the back, Stretch lures are a good start, speed depends on size, how deep you want go and how good your tackle is.

Run down the drop off (around 30' depth) with Stretch 25s - with the current. 6 knots. I have the best luck with red/white. Other colors work in spurts for me, like dolphin.

Are you refering to the drop off as offshore out of the inlet or inside?

As stated it depends on your tackle. I prefer Stretch 30's but they pull a lot do you need a good sized reel. Personally I would out one pink stretch 25 on one, chartreuse with spots on the other. Troll inside the sound from the old coast guard station down to the pass. I was trolling in the pass by the furthest buoy last week. Picked up some kings on the color-tide change out there Tue am. Find the bait and the water change out there and work around those buoys. Good fish trolling inside on the west side off pass also. If u want spanish, just troll some small spoons or spanish rigs along the beach.
