Anyone used starefires with 18v?  I used to use one 12v light under 18v and had good luck but got tired of blowing bulbs when they came out of the water.  How about anyione else?  I need more light without the fumes and noise of a generator.

never tried 18v to the starfires but like you i did have the regular light bulbs with it and it worked great as long as the bulb stayed underwater.  isnt there a protective plastic deal on the starfire bulbs???  if so then that would keep water away from the bulb and it would get hot in the same way as the regular bulb did when it came out of the water.  atleast thats what i think...could be wrong though

I've never tried the 18V. The is no plastic covering on them, it's just a Pyrex glass tube.

I use to use the 18 volt system with the standard 12 volt bulbs also and was very pleased with how much light it put out. Unless you have seen how much light a 12 volt bulb can provide with 18 volts going to it you wont believe it. I have never tried the starfires with 18 volts. If you do try it make dam sure the bulb is in the water before throwing the switch.
