Details;

We pulled up to the Spur just before dark, a Whale popped up next to the boat and went back down.  We got our first bait out, green squid with a green light down about 100' and started to put out the 2nd bait when we got the bite.  We tagged teamed the fish and had it to the side of the boat in less than 1 hour.  Stuck him with a gaff and pulled it over the gunnel.  We had two other bites through out the evening but no hook ups.

Nothing better than Swordfish steaks on the grill!

I might add we did this overnight trip 65 miles off shore in a 23' boat, that takes some balls!  The whale was twice as big as the boat we were in.

I hear ya, my cousin and I have been to the Ram Powell, Beercan, and other places in the 23' Mako. We were 80 miles out this weekend and got into the Tuna (pics and story posted).

I talked to Al Friday morning (thanks for the tip on squid) and he said ya'll were heading out for swordfish. We were going to stop at the Spur Friday night on the way out but got a late start and didn't want to miss the tuna bite at sunrise. That swordfish kicks @$$!!!!!!  Great Job.
