Yesterday there was a news report that told of a motorcycle club out of Pensacola that was traveling together westbound on I-10.  An Alabama State trooper clocked some of them at speeds up to 140 mph.  Knowing he couldn't catch them, he radioed ahead and sat up a roadblock on the I-10 bridge over Mobile Bay.  The were all caught if I am not mistaken.  One was a woman.

140mph is fast........I rode a Ninja on I-10 between Tallahassee and Lake City once at about 130mph, and I was beginning to be lifted off the seat and the broken line was begining to look solid.

What is the fastest you have ever driven or riden?

128 in my brother's Camaro. Pretty stinkin stupid considering it doesn't handle too well even if it is a sports car.

And I drove an Audi TT coupe pretty fast on 399 in Navarre. I don't think I cleared 100, but it was the best riding vehicle I had ever driven fast.

I have never driven over 120 mph which is where my wife's Altima hits the rev limiter.  Shhhhh don't tell her.  I did ride in a buddy's vet going about 150 on I-10 between Milton and Holt one night.

i'm just comparing the body styles and original engines.... not anything twin t'd or like a 3000gt spyder (all wheel steering, i think?)... i'm just saying that his stealth is no different from a stock 3000gt.

Back when we used to race the beach, I rode with a few guys that could creep up into the 130-140's.

well yes the bodies do look similiar and the stealths engine is similiar to a normal 3000gts...but no stealth is near as fast as a 3000gt vr4...vr4 stands for vicious realtime four which means it is four wheel drive also on a vr4 the rear spoiler changes pitch after 60mph and also has a type of spoiler on the bottom of the front of the car so that air does not go under it. but overall a stealth is similiar to a 3000gt in looks and some what in performance but the only similarity it has with a vr4 is that it looks a little like it.

Disclaimer:  I was young(er), stupid(er), had finished free-fall school, was in pilot training, and was loving life on my bike.  I will tell anyone right now that this is extremely stupid and should only be attempted by a trained professional and on a track built for it, regardless of "experience" or "training".

That being said, here's my "fastest I've ever been" story:

Took a trip down to Brownsville, TX on my motorcycle ('03 Ninja ZX6R) on the way down from Corpus Christi when I crested a hill overlooking a long, long, long straight stretch of Texas highway.  There was not a single car between me and the horizon.  My buddy and I (he was on a Harley Roadster) looked at each other and were both thinking the same thing.  Kicked it down into 4th and rolled up onto the throttle.  Hit the limiter on 5th passing around 135 or so.  Hit it into 6th and I stopped looking down at the digital speedometer on my bike passing 164 mph and was still laying hard on the throttle.  I was pretty much aeordynamically limited at the top end and was tucked as low behind the screen as I could go.  I was so focused on the road that I didn't even look down at the speedometer.  When I'd had enough, I let off of the throttle, looked down DECELERATING through 185 mph.

So now that you've heard the story, don't be like me <--

You can run, but you'll only die tired!

That ticket cost me a lot.

Driver's license, the car for 6 months and a few bucks to boot.

The hood damage only cost the price of a rubber mallet and a little bit of explaining.

I had my Acura Integra speedo pegged (that's about 140-145mph) on I-20 in Shreveport, LA. Yeah I know it's a 4 banger, but I had some "stuff" done to it. Ah to be young and dumb.
