| I am looking at buying some new carbon arrows in the next few days. I am currently shooting the pse radial carbon weave that I bought 2 or 3 years ago but I've only got two left that are in good shooting condition. I want to get a good arrow without spending $100/dozen. Any suggestions???

Gold Tip makes a pretty good arrow for the money. I shoot Easton Axis 340's they are awsome but a little on the high side.

Not about them just about your shooting ability . Like I said Gold Tip does make a good arrow I used to shoot them but just switched to the Easton's.

| Here is a link, call them and pick their brains. They sell 100's of dozens a year so they are trustworthy in my book and they didn't try to sell me something I didn't like or want. http://www.fsdiscountarchery.com/

I shoot the Easton Axis and Im pleased with them, good quality and pretty reasonable at about $110.

You need to consider your application before selecting.
If you are not going to be shooting an animal past 30-35 yards, then arrows that have a straightness of .005 or .006 will work. However, if you are going to be attempting to take an animal beyond that distance then I would go with an arrow straightness of .003 or less.
When shooting the longer distances you will definitely see tighter groups with arrow straightness of .003 or less.
And check the back of the arrow box and make sure that you are splined right for your draw weight, as it relates to arrow length.
I believe that Easton makes the finest arrows on the market today, although Gold Tip and Carbon Express will "Git er done".

maxima carbon hunters with blazer vanes installed but you are gonna pay more than you want to...But they shoot better than a lot of the high dollar arrows in my sons and a buddy of mines bow... I shoot the gold tips but they are not as consistent arrow to arrow as the maximas.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I ended up going with the Beaman ICS Hunter arrows. They have a straightness of .003 and after testing a lot of different arrows, it seems these were the best for the money. My buddy has a chronograph and we have been testing many different arrow speeds on the same bow. I know speed is not everything, but it was amazing seeing how much difference an arrow makes. We shot all of the arrows using a 70# Mathews DXT and here are the results from fastest to slowest:- Easton Axis N-Fused 296 fps
- Beaman ICS Hunter 290
- Easton Full Metal Jacket 288
- PSE Carbon Force 286
- PSE Carbon Radial Weave 285
- Easton Alluminum (can't remember size) 255

I am just curious how accurate this test is so can you answer a few questions, because if you do not have the same weight or spine the arrow will act different and will get different speeds. I know that the FMJ's are a lot heavier than ICS and a Nfused so there should be a lot more difference in speed from these two to the FMJ. Were all these arrows weighed? Was the spine checked to verify they are the same? Did they have the same fletching(2 inch blazers with 2 degree offset compared to a 4 inch quickspin with right helical)? Did they have the same size point weight? Thanks Doug

| Instead of worring so much on speed calculate your kinetic energy with each arrow. There are several sites that let you put the weight and speed in and it calcs if for you. Another thing about Beaman ICS's: They aren't made in the USA anymore. They moved their manufacturing to Inda(I do believe) a few years ago. I've heard that their quality went down after they made the move. Can't vouch for that though...just what I heard.
