| There will be no victory in Iraq. These people are intent on butchering each other and our people over there are in an untenable situation. It is sobering to see those young faces flashed across the television screen each night that won't be coming home to their families. We are losing quality people who could make a difference in this country. We let Viet Nam drag on far too long and look how that played out. Lets not worry about saving face and all that horse manure. We ought to get the hell out of Dodge and let those crazy bastards kill each other.

jaredk (8/27/2008) hey WW2, it seems that every post on this forum i look at has you talking about how someone is an idiot & you hate everything. Give it a break man. "fucktardery" are you serious?? Could you have done a better job if you were president? My question for you now---Have you ever done anything helpful for your country that didn't benefit yourself? You mean beyond my time in the Navy, because there was that little thing called Gulf War 1.0 that I was involved in. Then there was that time when I had just gotten out of the Navy and while looking for a job I decided to drive to Illinois in '93 to fill sandbags for the flood. I have had 4 jobs in 22 years and taken a total of 2 months of unemployment. And of those 2 months 3 weeks were spent filling sandbags. Could I have done better? Well, who knows? I'm barely old enough to even run for the office. But, I do have a post on the old forum where I basically described the existing scenario we are in right now back in like 02 or whatever year it was. If you think that all of my posts are of that nature then you are only reading these political posts. Check out the fishing section of this forum, I have plenty of posts in there. I think that GW is an idiot and I think people should research before voting party lines. I have chosen fighting the stranglehold that the reps and the dems have on this nation as a goal of mine. And in that I feel that I am doing ALOT to help this country because I believe that in breaking down those 2 self-serving behemoths we can get past the 2party bickering to get down to some real solutions for this country. Things that we should be focusing on.

WW2-you seem like you are thinking for yourself-that can be hard to come by today. Congratulations.
And to the topic of this post I started-
Does anyone want to discuss what victory in Iraq, winning the war will mean?
Oh yeah, GO JAGUARS!!

| I think the "war" in Iraq is over. Now it's a matter of rebuidling infrastructure and set the country up to be able to handle the little uprisings. Iraq has been liberated for all intents and purposes. The war on terrorism, however, is still raging. Some of that war just happens to be in Iraq now. It's also in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pakistan has the ability to handle the situation if they choose to. Afghanistan I don't think was in a position to do anything. I think that Iran is our biggest concern with Syria hot on their heels. The good news is that should we decide to gut Iran we already have them surrounded...:-)
