Any idea how hard this is to replace on a "79" 35 hp Johnson ???? This is the rod with the gear with teeth at the bottom.

Well I know the part number, but I am hearing you have to pull the fly wheel, so I guess my question is on a 1-10 scale of difficulty 10 being hire freaking god to do it for you, how hard is it to do ?

| I don't think you have to pull the flywheel to change that out. I am not God, but I do marine repair at my home. If you would like me to take a look at it you can call me at 850-698-8984. I will be glad to help you out over the phone, but it would be better for both of us if I could take a peek. e-mail address is backyard.boys@yahoo.com
