Dang Chris... Sounds like you are extremely prepared. We just got back from our camp in Alabama hanging two-man ladder stands and carried up four shootin' houses.
Yesterday afternoon about 4 pm we got down in a bottom/swamp between two creeks, after carrying our first heavy ass ladder stand for a mile by hand (no ATV) and when we laid the stand down, all hell broke loose. I swear, 10 trillion mosquitoes and gnats swarmed our ass and all three of us (having forgotten bug spray) hauled ass out of the woods, jumped in the truck, and 30 minutes later (bug spray applied) we were back at the ladder.
We worked till 8 pm and finished the second stand, in the dark, with two freakin' flash lights. Back at it this morning after a night of rain and that slick ass Alabama mud wasn't cooperating too well. We got three more ladder stands hung and called it quits. 5 stands put together and toted in by hand to Alabama bottoms with "No ATV" in 12 hours just about killed us.
I'm sittin' here typing this tired as hell.
Take your bug spray!!!

| Going to the club as well heading out saturday to Old Texas Al to put up a few shooting houses , check feeders and put up cameras. Everyone watch out for the old BUZZTAIL.
In baseball the strike zone is a conceptual three demensional right angle pentagonal over home plate which defines the boundaries through which a pitch must pass in order to count as a strike when the batter does not swing.

SplitTine (9/5/2008) Therma Cell, the best $20 you can spend if your in the woods during this time of year. I have been sold on these things and will never forget it at the house.I became a believer in these things while hog hunting a few years ago and my camera man whipped his out. Went and bought one the following week. I forgot mine one day during bow season so the next morning I went and bought 2 more to keep at the camp and in my truck...just in case the one in the back pack doesn't make it. I just rolled in from my 2nd Saturday of bush hogging. I swear our food plots and trails are thicker this year than ever before. Guess it's all the rain we have gotten of late. I've never had to gear down to keep the rpms up. Give her a week or two and be ready to disk up. Can't believe it's almost here!!!! Chris you might want to add Poison Ivy wash to your list. I saw some today that was as big around as my arm. It's all over the place this year.

We had a great weekend! Trimmed up a bunch of roads, cleared out some over growth in a few plots and enjoyed the brotherhood of our members at the club. We had an AWESOME turn out! 23 of the 35 members turned out and we got a lot done. Unfortunately 2 of the members ended up tearing up their tractors though.
There was a lot of trees that were blown across the road too and that made it "fun" too. Our team came up with this "GREAT" plan today and it was that they would work up the fence line and I would go around and pick them up on the other side. Dumb plan! I was by myself and had to clear 8 trees from across the roads in order to get to where they were. They were on foot though and walked about 2 miles so I guess it was an even playing field.
We had one hell of a feast last night too! We had only planed on cooking for ourselves (3 of us) but with about 14 members staying the night, I went into Camden and we picked up some more fixins. We had 3 packs of sausage, hot dogs, burgers, pork chops, tenderloins etc. Had plenty left overs for lunch today too.
It was HOT! Ended up with 6 rattlers getting wacked over the weekend too.

Sounds like fun. We bush hogged our plots this weekend and scouted. Only real excitement was the rat killin the boys did with the bb guns when we cut plots. That was a blast. We did see a ton of sign and 2 rack bucks. Can't wait for 10-15-08
