I am new here at pensacola, and back at home in ohio I was an avid fisherman. I took a vacation to ft myers florida and got hooked on saltwater fishing. I am attending school at NAS pensacola as a Naval Aircrewman. I would like to get some tips on hooking some fish maybe just off of the seawall, or beach. Thanx

first, welcome to the madness second, best i can tell you is to go to outcast bait and tackle. they are on barrancas ave about 2 miles from navy blvd on the left heading west. search the forum here for reports and how to. but let the guys at outcast demo to you what you need, and then hook you up with the gear and tackle. they have good prices and GREAT service. prolly wouldnt try to take up a lot of their time on a weekend as they may be busier then.

I am stationed at NAS as well. I used to fish the wall and such before I got my boat. Check the Tides, Tides,Tides Tides. They mean a whole lot around here. When the tides are moving , fish are more than likely around as well. The sea wall is ok, usually it is over fished by portside. I used to fish the seawall near the "O"Club, flounder, ocasional reds, ladyfish and spanish. If you want to try for grouper go to the one at portside. Trout point is a great spot as well. It is behind the white covering next to the road when you are going out the back gate. Shallow, some grass flat areas, Specks and Reds frequent there as well. Good place to wade fish early AM. Hopefully this inforamtion is enough to get you started, good luck and welcome to the forum.

You catch some, you lose some but the beer will never say no or try to run away.
