I broke the skeg off my mercruiser alpha 1 this weekend. Too much is gone to use the skeg guard. I think I will have to have one welded on. From what I understand the lower has to be disassembled. I am wanting to get the upper resealed anyway so I guess this is a good time to get it all done. Anyone have any suggestions on who to take it to and about what it will cost?

Tim at Breeze Fabricators will do it for you. Not sure how much. The last one I had to have welded cost me $125, not by Tim.

If you are on the north side of town ( Cantonment area ), give me a call. I would be glad to fix it for you. If you have the skeg, It shouldn't cost more that about $30.

Give me a call and I will get the reseal and skeg done. The skeg will be around $80 at the weld shop and I can go over the rest when you call. Hope to hear from you.

| I can't think of the name of the place, but it is at 9 Mile and Copter Rd. Has all the props out front on racks. I had a large piece of my outboard's cavitation plate break off. They used a pre-made replacement piece and you would never know it had been broken. Less than a two day turnaround and around $100. Very pleased.
