I have a 3 year old TV that went out yesterday. The power just goes out after a few minutes.  I've gotten it to come on a few times, just for a few moments then it goes out again. The screen shows a good picture when it came on, so I know it's not the tube. The power switch is still on but the screen and sound are blanked.  I believe it has something to do with the power supply or transformer box.  I live in Pensacola, and need to find someone to take a look at it at a resonable rate.  I would like to replace with a LCD flatscreen eventually but I would like to see if I can tweak a few more years out of this one first. I can think of a few better things I could spend $500 - $1200 than on instead of a TV right now.

I have a RCA 27F530T model TV.

You'd be much better off buying a used tube TV off craigslist. I just gave away a nice 32" tube tv. It's actually hard to get rid of tube tv's and CRT computer monitors these days.

I had my samsung hd tube tv fixed @ Gulf Coast TV over on Warrington Road. I am pretty sure it was a free estimate. Definitely a nice guy.

Thanks for the advice.  I'll check them out.  It sucks that most electronics these days are so disposable.  It's ususally cheaper to buy a new one than fix the one you have.  Why does it seem like the TV's that my grandparents have last 20 yrs or more and the ones you buy today last 3-5 years?  The RCA company has been around forever. It should be a brand that is trusted to last a long time. Oh well, it may be a good excuse to get a flat screen HDTV for the family room.  The one in the bedroom is awesome.
