I was looking to hit the water this weekend and have never fished Pensacola area before. Does anyone know where some grass flats in 4-6 feet of water area. I have heard about 3 mile and bob sykes bridge but are there any other areas to fish. I love to catch reds, specks and flounder. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jared

Do a search for Naval Live Oaks and Big Sabine for grass flats.

get as close to pnas as you can.  in between the buoys and the base is best!

hey man i was just joking about close to pnas, just messin with jon.

you can do pretty good at the pass: the rock jetty, the steel jetty and on around into the cove.  also in big lagoon there are some grass areas like you were looking for.

also the bend point just west of shoreline park behind those real big houses.

Thanks for all your help. I made it out Sunday 10/02/08. I managed to catch two reds 22" and 13" and a borderline legal flounder. All of the fish were caught in Gulp with a 3/8 jig head. The small red and flounder were released. Thanks again!

Pictures are of the 22" red
