I feel I might be overstepping my relationships with all of you by posting this but I really do hope this is okay with all of you. I wanted to let you all know our grandson Chandler has been taking his Chemo as they prescribed. He has a period where he takes tablet form of it every 6 hours, and then his next treatment is by IV at a Dr.'s visit. He seems to be in good spirits but has lost more weight. On halloween, we were at his home and my wife said it seemed to be as if he was bones covered with skin. He surprised us when we were at his home and he came from the hallway walking slowly on his own. He doesn't walk far, but it sure made me happy, maybe it was my allergies. He did however have an appetite when we were there and after church a couple of Sundays ago, we all had dinner at my wife's father's home and Chandler actually ate a plate "full" of food! I later found out that this was possibly because when he had been to the Dr.'s appointment, his platelette count, and white cell counts were too low for him to receive his needed Chemo treatment, I am thinking that was why he was able to eat because he wouldn't get sick afterwards. The "Make-a-Wish Foundation" has contacted him to ask him where he would like to go if he could make a choice. I was amazed that from what I heard, he told them he wanted to go to Hawaii and meet President Elect Obama. I am being very, very honest with "all" of you when I post this and I promise I will not bother the forum again with this issue but times have seemed to just be getting worse for us and I wanted to let all of you know how much you all mean to me and I really appreciate all you have done for us. I know that there are many others going through economic and financial problems right now, I do not at all want to be over extending my friendship with any of you but I want to post this link for any of you that might wish to donate again, and I truly hope you will keep him in all your prayers.

If I offend one of you, please forgive me and I am only posting this with sincere intentions. Thank all of you very much!

Chris

Thanks for the needed update, Chris. You and Chandler have been on my mind and in my prayers all along and I appreciate the information about his condition. I can also appreciate the responses to his chemo and how his white blood count is extremely low, my son's blood count was as low as 9000 at one time during his chemo treatments. He was immediately isolated in an ICU room until it rose again to a somewhat safe level. It's phenomenal to consider the work of those tiny cells in our body and what a difference they make when they are not there to protect us.

Tell Chandler that I said Hi to him and he is right up there at the top of my list of prayer guys!!

And you need to take care of yourselves also. I know full well how this ordeal can wear down all who are involved in it. There's no sense in dropping your defenses worrying about Chandler's defenses.

Stay well and you know where I live if you need to talk.

Tom

Man that is tough, I couldn't even read the whole post without my eyes watering up...

I hope he gets his wish and gets to Hawaii.
