According to the Birmingham News Tuberville has been let go at Auburn. Man One bad year and you gone. Kind of tough to attract quaslity coaches after the way Auburn athletics had treated TT. Gotta say I'm dissapointed in this development.

Honestly though...Tubbs and Auburn were kind of like that marriage that was only holding together by a thread just for the sake of the children. Ever since jetgate...it's been a little rough.

I've got a bad feeling that the barners will get Paul Johnson.

I don't know...I think he's got a better chance of winning a NC coming out of the ACC.

also have a bad feeling for ole AU, when are the higher ups going to realize that you are going to have a crappy year, once every decade.

Hope they can find someone who could put up with their sh-t. maybe that guy they call the old football coach.

As an Alabama fan, all I can do is laugh. Just two years ago everyone accused us of not giving Shula enough time, now they run off one of their most winning coaches after one poor year. You had to know this was coming after jetgate, though. Too bad Petrino has it in his contract that he can't leave for any school in the SEC West. What coach really wants to deal with AU's administration at this point in time? I'll shut up now. 36-0!!!!!! ROLL TIDE

I'm a true Auburn fan and I hate to see it end like this. Tubbs made a mistake by hiring Franklin and he admitted that. Why couldn't AU give him another year to hire a better offensive cord. and try to turn it around next year. I'll be a Tuberville fan no matter where he goes. TUbbs to UT and Fulmer to AU???    to the AU a.d. for doing this

I was reading the paper yesterday and Tuberville was saying how he's working to turn it around and he may "rearrange" his coaching staff some more. In other words, it's not MY fault. I'll be glad to put some more people on the road if it will save MY hide.

He thew his offensive coordinator to the wolves in mid-season without a second thought. Now it's his turn. (but I do think it's ridiculous after one bad season)

I'm quite sure Tuberville will land on his feet.... au better be ready to throw a lot of $$$ at somebody like Leach or they'll end up with a trial balloon guy like UF did with Zook, unproven, 'maybe" a good coach...

Jim

PS... Are there any auburn alums or former assistants doing well somewhere?

Jim

Really hate to hear this. Tuberville represented Auburn wonderful on and off the field. He is a complete class act. I wanted him to hire a completely new offensive staff and give him two years to "right the ship" but oh well. Leach is the #1 target.

No Auburn alums doing well that I can think of. Sullivan had his shot. Pat Nix is 10 years away but a decent young OC. Vince Dooley's son is doing good. Vince went to Auburn but coached UGA. I'm sure his son would come to AU but don't think he is ready. AU always has strong ties with UGA so Muschamp comes to mind. I think Leach and Butch Davis will be the first two.

Elaborate on that comment. I'm a huge AU fan and I agree that he's a class act. He runs a clean program, never has players in trouble with the law, never been on probation, ect... Just curious as to how he's "far from a class act"

Winnest coach in Iron bowl history until this year the Bear took that back(not by much % wise)

4th Winnest coach in Auburn history!  Had 1 13-0 season(Did not get at a shot at the NC b/c they played the Citidel, which is curious because didn't UF played them this year and is still a possible Champ with 1 loss) and 5 and 3 in bowl appeareances .

Bad move Auburn

As far as Croom being fired, he resigned NOT FIRED.  He was asked to let Woody McCorvy go and refused.  Personally I thought Croom was a Class act and should have been given another year.

Oh and one other thing it is being reported that Auburn Officials meet with Leach before they had their post season meeting w Tubby.  I hope you guys do hire him for his Offense genius but you better tell him to stop and find a great DC.  That Big 12 all offense style and no defense of ball aint gonna play in the SEC.

How about telling his Ole Miss players he wasn't leavig and then sneaking into the night 6 hours later to Auburn.  All class...sure he is.

You make some good points and as a die hard Alabama fan and graduate obviously my opinion is going to be very biased. However, I base my statement on several things. Those include the numerous reports from high school coaches about how he is notorious for lying to recruits, the fact that he taunted college kids by holding up fingers signifying their winning streak and the fact that he has thrown several assistant coaches under the bus during his time there. I think Joe Scarborough put it best when he was on the Paul Finebaum show awhile back. He said for Tubberville to be out there holding up fingers to 18, 19 and 20 year old kids who had just had their heart broken proved not only that he lacked any type of class whatsoever but that he was a middle aged loser.
