Went out for the two hours before dark on Saturday. Managed 3 pomps on the beach with about 3 more lost. Sunday fished 1pm-dark and landed two. Biggest 15.5". For the first hour we saw solo bonita's coming right up to the sand. I wish I knew how to target them. Both days we also massive Bonita schools 100 yards across just past the breakers.

Some folks keep a rod setup with those items and set it aside just for those occasions.

I definitely will bring a second rod next weekend. I also heard white jigs worked well. Do you fast retrieve them or bounce them off the bottom like fishing for pompano?

Bonita running today, was able to get one. Water is rough and they are thin...not a bunched up in big schools today.
