| I've never been to Fish River before and don't know what to expect but i am looking forward to it. Hoping to catch a mess of trout for my parents. Just wondering if you guys have any tips for a first timer on this river. Not looking for your honey holes. Just general information and is it safe to run the river with my out board....stumps,logs, or sand bars? Thanks Guys!!

| We have gone to Fish River for the past 6 years about 4 times a year. You can run up river with no problem with the outboard. About 1/2 to 1 mile up the river stay to the right, there will be 2 islands to the left and it is shallow from the islands left to he bank , above these 2 islands stay in the middle of the river, about 3/8 mile upriver you will get close to where the river takes a 90* to the left there will be a shallow bar before the 90*. There is another island about 2-3 miles up the river and this is where we have seen people start drifting down river for the specs. We have also seen plenty of trout fisherman just below the first 2 islands I mentioned. There should be plenty of people fishing, just get in line, Most people use small chartreuse grubs or the gulp new penny shrimp or live shrimp. Good luck, I hope this little bit of info helps/ I just wish I had more time to fish down there!!!
