Day off work Friday with a couple of friends. Headed out of Perdido Pass later than planned (one team member played too hard the night before). Tried for bait around the Fairwell Bouy and again at the 3 mile reef but not much luck. Plenty of birds diving so we decide to have a quick troll to see what might be under that bait. No takers so on to the Trysler Grounds. Ran out 20 miles to first drop - covered up with small AJs. Try some butterflyed small mullet on the bottom to see if Mr Grouper is around. Bait gets nailed and fight is on - but alas its only a 12lb snapper. Release and down we go again - same result with another 12 - 13lb snapper. Give up and move to new spot. Mix bag here so move on to another - jackpot of triggers and they are all over the bait - biggest went almost 5lbs. Seas were nice and a smooth ride in. Was wanting to carry on to the Edge but the daylight gets cut short so early now.
