First, i'd like to thank everyone for this board. I was a first-timer and was able to have a great day due to the information I received.
We got out to the beach (Perdido Key) around 4:45 AM, just before sun up and fished until 11:00 AM. We caught about 15-20 whiting, including one stretch where we caught one on every cast. We also caught a ladyfish, spanish mackerel and a small shark. It was a blast and I cannot wait to go back again. No jellyfish, or June grass to report.

| I am headed to Gulf Shores next week and will be surf fishing. Any info on what bait you used would be appreciated.

| We were using fresh dead shrimp (from the wal-mart seafood counter) and a few sand fleas I was able to dig out with my hands. We fished them on pompano rigs with 2oz weights. Also caught one on a silver Gotcha lure.
