I have always found this model to be a good one, but wonder why I get a warning that its security certificate is not current and it often won't load properly.  Does anyone know?

Which model?  Are you using IE 8?  Do you have a link to the site?

I got the same warning this morning, tried it anyway, but it wouldn't load. Used the link posted on the thread.

The public portal is being updated, the url is  http://www.usno.navy.mil

The other site will only be accessible from a .mil network or via your CAC reader at the house.

You will need to either add the site to the trusted sites or permantly accept the SSL certificate that the site is using. Basically what is going on is that the site is secure but the certificate doesn't come from a site that is known for issuing SSL certificates or it may contain information that doesn't match the site.

I'm not sure why they make it run over SSL because it's not like data transfer is happening and needs to be encrypted but they do.
