I haven't tested this rig out yet but I am certain it will work far better and cause fewer problems than a drag chute.  I think I can build it for about $4 if I have to buy all of the parts.

I'll build and post it tomorrow.  Hopefully I can use it on a Tarpon this week.

This isn't going to happen today.  It is raining cats and dogs and the radar shows a bunch more comming my way.

Tarpon fishing in February in the Tampa area is pretty much a losing proposition unless you fish power plant canals, Crystal River or a few residential canals.  February thru mid march is my most un-favorite time to fish around here.

Re: Yak Brakes-  I'll try to get to it this week.  It rained most of the day today.

Bug me to get it done.  I really don't need the brakes myself because I can add a lot of extra drag using the StandNFish Pontoons with my rudder hard over.  I see the need for them with most yaks, though.

I just posted Tip # 952, Kayak Brake System on the Fishing and Boating Tip Forum.

http://fishthebridge.com/fishingforum/Topic372211-11-1.aspx

Please pardon my crude drawing.  I'll build the real thing and post it if this rain ever stops.

PLEASE NOTE:  THIS IS AN UN-TESTED TIP BUT YOU CAN BET IT WILL WORK.

Sorry I haven't built one of these gizmos to photo.  Lots going on around here right now.  I'll try to giter done before Monday.

Brakes photo.

I need to tweak these a little.  It is not glued together in the photo.  I need to shorten them a bit.  It started thundering so I stopped where I was and took the photo.
