Me, my son Tyler & his fishing buddy, Nicky hit the live bottom by the Tex Edwards to day at 9 am. It took 30-40 mins. to get the fish fired up with chunks. We caught 2 and lost 4 before the boat drifted off the spot. I re-anchored and started back with the chunks. We were catching the on spinning rods and they were eating menhaden floating on the surface. It was a nice mess, But we lost twice what we caught.
It sure was fun though!!
Sea ya, Reese

My new boat Capt., Tyler...

Coach brought some nice snappers in at daybreak marina.... As usual!! ;-p

Those red snapper are some definate pole benders!

I support separation of commercial and recreational fishing. I support the ethics of sportsmen including conservation of our fisheries and recommend taking only what you can use without waste within legal limits.

very nice mess of black snapper!!  some people might not think so but IMO they taste better than their endangered cousins...  and those reds are huge!

Nice catch Reese! You have clinched where I am fishing tomorrow. You better be telling the truth. You know I am kidding of course. I haven't tried that area this year. It is funny how you forget close in spots like that. Those are way better Black snapper than we have been catching. Good job and nice pics. I am sure glad we were gone with our piddling snapper before Swenson [Coach} showed up. You don't want to be at the fish cleaning table when the Cat Daddy pulls in. He is an absolute marvel of a fisherman.
