I am planning a trip on the 4th with some family from Tennessee. They have never been out before so I would like to stay with in 15 miles, any advise on putting some fish in the boat and showing these guys a good time. I am the only one who has ever been offshore besides my wife and will be running the boat. I know i need to show them a good time and have not been able to put much time in on the water this year due to work any advise on hot spots are appreciated.

I dont have any spots to give you other than it will be crowded out on the water and judging by the forecast the gulf will probably be a washing machine. If you have a good fishfinder I would try and find some of the smaller public stuff (pyramids, tanks, reef modules) to locate the fish. Although we normally fish at night, I have heard that the bite inside of 10 miles has not been that good.

That what I have heard I have some spots close to the edge and out to the west but they are to far for the novice crew. I appreciate the advise though. I hope the weather will give us a little break though
