| What kind of turn out does this place have as far as number of cars per class on a regular night of racing?...I love my dirt racing and love the ground pounding late models...Are the late models here Crate late mods or the same ones as the big boys drive like Pearson/Moyer/Bloomquist?....I was thinking of hitting this tack a time or two after I move if its a good track. I'm use to EastBay RaceWay in The Tampa area with the 100 to 140 car turnouts in just 5 divisions!...Thats crazy...Lots of cautions though especially in the street stock class...My first dirt track experience was at LA Raceway in Loxley Al....it was fun but nothing compared to EastBay.

| The OLE roundy round. I was at Southern Raceway this past Sat. nite. There is not near as many cars racing as there were 5yrs. ago. The late models they run weekly are Crate. There is a big latemodel race on the 11th. at Southern. The race is called the Derrick Henley Memorial. 44 laps $4,400.00 to win. Come on out and try to win some money. There are some fast cars and great drivers in these parts.. Southern Raceway has a website. Goodluck and keep'em straight.

| It would not be fair to try and compare the two. Eastbay is one of the greatest experiences for a dirt track fan. I love the February nights with the wind wreaking havoc on the Sprint Car wings. Eastbay is way faster than Southern. Southern helps fill the void.

Scabs (7/2/2009) It would not be fair to try and compare the two. Eastbay is one of the greatest experiences for a dirt track fan. I love the February nights with the wind wreaking havoc on the Sprint Car wings. Eastbay is way faster than Southern. Southern helps fill the void.I guess youre right....This area has so many people and so many folks that want to race and sponsorship is a bit easier to get and help run a race team....Gotta love 20 plus days of winternationals at EastBay too. One of the worst tracks I ever went to in my life was Deep South in Baldwin County Al.....Definitely a big track with potential but it needs grand stands...I just could not see the cars on the front stretch.....The track is definitely made for faster cars and watching the 4 cyl bombers run around was boring as heck on a track that size....
