We have a few professional rod builders on here and an amatuer or two like myself. I think a rod building forum would be a place to discuss techniques and tricks, and pick the brain's of the pro's.

By the way this new forum is AWESOME!!!!

I agree.  I've thought about getting into rod-building myself, even though I know nothing of it.  A forum for it would help out tremendously.  That I have no doubt of.

If it's intent is truly aimed towards tips, suggestions, exchange of idea's..you've got my vote. Just would hate to see another "place" for "my stuff is better than yours" or "there's only my way of doing things"..like so many other forum sites (not PFF) turn into..

Just sayin..

Thats what I would like to see it become...There alot of rod builders on here. Some who are Very experienced. I would like for tips and help.

No need for a place to try and sale stuff or battle who's is bigger and better. I do agree with you that might be exactly what happens. I guesss in that case I could just keep using the rod building forum on 2cool.com. I have never seen a single disagreement on there.

Thanks

hey ive got abunch of rods ready and some half built

lets get a rod building section started. ive been doing it for 30 years ( over 20 professionaly ) and every so often run into a problem. new input is always welcome. and new sources and a plce to market unwanted or overordered items. good way for someone to get into it cheap.

after all where else can i showcase my newest project,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,a 6 weight split cane fly rod using german silver for all the metal surfaces

billsrods@cox.net

billsrods@cox.net  ,,,,,,,,,might be gone fishing

WOW!!!!! That sounds like it will be awesome. I am currently finishing up a 7' bottom rod. Gator blank, Aftco reel seat and Fuji Turbo guides. Simple Chevron butt wrap.

Thaks for the support on the rod building section. There are a lot of us on here.

We've been kicking this horse for a long while. I wish Chris would chime in here and tell why we can not have one. So at least we could quit beating this poor poor dead horse. But untill then I guess I will keep kicking as well.
